“Much more than a Marina…”

From February’s SpinSheet Magazine:

“We were hooked from the moment we passed the first day mark signaling our arrival. We immediately became aware; River Dunes is much more than just a marina…

It is more like a 21st century frontier oasis, idyllically situated in a vast liquid desert where the Pamlico and Neuse Rivers flow into the Pamlico Sound; a winter haven for us that offers year-round boating in plenty of deep, navigable water, with much opportunity for excellent sailing and many destinations to explore. Entering the beautifully protected Grace Harbor, we navigated a set of six perfectly aligned channel markers leading through a meticulously manicured fairway lined with elegant buildings reminiscent of old Charleston-style southern architecture. “Oh my!” Suzanne exclaimed, pointing. “Is that the club house?” We realized that this would be home sweet home for the next month until we began our second leg farther south after Christmas…”

River Dunes on a Beautiful Spring Night

One of our property owners took some beautiful photos of the Harbor Club and Marina on a night last week when the moon was full and the marina was so calm that it looked like a mirror.  Thanks for sharing these fantastic pictures, Matt!  We hope you all enjoy them…

Busy Boating Season

The months of October and November are traditionally busy ones for Grace Harbor, as many boaters make their way south to the warmer waters of Florida, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean for the winter. The cavalcade of beautiful boats is always enjoyable viewing for owners who live on the Marina or the Channel. One of our home owners recently snapped some photos of one of the larger yachts we’ve docked this season. Thanks for the pictures – we love getting shots of our marina and guest boats!

Once a boater has spent a night or two at River Dunes, they make it a regular stopping point on their travels north and south. It’s become a popular destination on the ICW because of the five star facilities and warm welcome. If you’ve not stopped here, don’t miss us on your next voyage!

The Travels of Liberdade

The Arrington’s, slip leasers in River Dunes Grace Harbor, recounted their cruising adventures on Liberdade, a 54′ Ocean Alexander Trawler, in the September issue of Passagemaker magazine. We thank them for sharing the great article and their excellent tips for cruisers with us!Read the article.

Bob and Dori share their reasons for choosing River Dunes as their Home Port:

“Dori and I built Liberdade to cruise and live aboard for extended periods during the year, but there are a few times in the year when Liberdade needs a secure marina, which is why we chose Grace Harbor Marina at River Dunes. Located on a well protected basin right off the ICW, River Dunes is one of the best protected harbors on the East Coast. Its location on a deep well marked channel right off the ICW makes easy to get to as well. River Dunes central location in one of North Carolina’s prime boating areas also gives us access to plenty of top notch service facilities near by.

Not to be content with the first class facility they built, River Dunes has also continued to improve, offering new services like the recently begun Grace Harbor Water Sports. The Water Sports group now offers sailing lessons, kayak tours and a complete list of boater’s concierge services. Rich Beliveau and his staff do a great job of keeping the facility in great shape. Whether you come for the beautiful club house, the pool or a secure slip on their floating piers, there is no better place to spend a night or the season than Grace Harbor Marina at River Dunes!”

Thank you for sharing the article and special thanks for the kind words about our marina!
