North Carolina’s State bird, the Cardinal, was spotted hanging out by the pool this past week!

The Cardinal was chosen by legislation in 1943 as North Carolina’s state bird. The Cardinal is native to much of the Eastern United States and doesn’t tend to migrate. While male cardinals are bright red all over, females are more brown but share the red beak in common. Stay on the lookout and maybe you’ll spot one of these guys for yourself!
