Past Broad Creek, we have the Neuse River in our backyard. It is a river rising in the Piedmont of North Carolina and emptying into the Pamlico Sound below New Bern and is approximately 275 miles long. The Neuse, whose Native name means peace, is a vital part of a large and important estuary, the Albermarle & Pamlico Sounds.
