Thai One On – Thai Massage Seminar

November 23, 2018

Join us for a fun filled, hands-on evening of Thai massage with Amy Tankersley (LMBT #17334), the leading Thai massage therapist while at Blackberry Farm.

Thai massage is often referred to as lazy man’s yoga. It is a beautiful, centuries-old practice of safely using your body to cultivate ease for your partner by alleviating muscle tension and soreness through a combination of stretching, massage compression, acupressure and yoga like postures. Has someone you love ever complained of pain, stiffness or soreness? Slept the wrong way and woke up hurting? Ever wish there was something you could do to help?

In this experiential evening, Amy will teach you and your partner safe and effective Thai massage techniques addressing common aches and pains to keep you feeling your best this holiday season.

Please wear loose fitting comfortable clothes (i.e. workout attire) and bring your yoga mat if you have one. Fun guaranteed!

Musical Society Concert: 8 Cuerdas at River Dunes

November 4, 2018

Buy tickets now for this String Performance at the River Dunes Harbor Club on Sunday, November 4th at 5pm. The Pamlico Musical Society holds two concerts at River Dunes each year and we’re thrilled to introduce the Fall Performers.

About the Musicians:

The 8 Cuerdas Duo is comprised of American soprano Sarah Cullins and Colombian guitarist Daniel Gaviria and is named for the eight “strings” that make up their two instruments and the artistic unity that this husband and wife team bring to their performances.

The Burlington, Vermont-based duo recently moved to the Green Mountains from the Andes Mountains of Bogota, Colombia, where both Sarah and Daniel had busy careers as soloists and chamber musicians as well as educators. As 8 Cuerdas, Sarah and Daniel combine their classical training and experience with their love of traditional Latin American and Spanish rhythms and folklore, exploring the multiple musical identities of Latin America and the origin of many of its influences, the Iberian Peninsula. Whether recreating a soulful Argentinian Milonga, bringing out the percussiveness of the Latin American Chacarera, or drawing on the intense passion of Flamenco, the duo leads much of their classical repertoire into the world music realm, creating a wide variety of sounds and atmospheres.
