Bluegrass, Clays and ‘Que

March 24 - 26, 2017

The Discovery Weekend for March 24 – 26 will be a celebration of the coastal lifestyle we enjoy here at River Dunes.

For our real estate guests, we’ll kick things off on Friday evening with a private Porch Party at the waterfront home of one of our owners.  Friday’s dinner, featuring locally sourced items, will be at the Harbor Club.

On Saturday morning, our property owners, club members, and real estate guests are welcome to shoot clays on the Riverside.  No matter your skill level or experience in shooting clays, you are invited to join in the fun.  We’ll have experienced instructors to teach you the ropes and make sure that everyone has a great time while enjoying beautiful Neuse River views.

There will be two community overview sessions on Saturday to learn more about River Dunes and real estate opportunities. Your sales agent will schedule your private community tour so that you have time to participate in the Clay Shooting and afternoon festivities.

On Saturday evening, the nationally recognized restaurant, PICNIC of Durham, NC, will be providing us with an award-winning barbecue with all the trimmings at our Pavilion, located right on the Harbor.  The fun will begin at 4:00 with live bluegrass music, local craft breweries, and some delicious traditional North Carolina food (yummmm…banana pudding, anyone??).

The cost of the weekend is $299 per couple, including 2 nights in a Guest Cottage at River Dunes, plus tickets to all the events. For Club Members, Slip Leasees and Property Owners, call for tickets. Call 252-249-0253 to reserve a spot!

Adopt-a-Road Sponsorship

The Residents of River Dunes have officially adopted Orchard Creek Road. The 4.3 mile stretch starts at Straight Road and continues to Mills Road along the borders of River Dunes.

Official signs designating the Adopt-a-Road Sponsorship will be put up by NCDOT soon!

The Residents are hosting the first of four annual roadside sweeps on Saturday, April 2nd Sunday and Monday, April 3rd and 4th (rain dates) and are looking for volunteers. The plan is to meet at the Grace Harbor Provision Co. at 8:00 am and form teams to cover the four mile stretch. Please RSVP if you’d like to join a crew. Deli sandwiches will be waiting for hungry clean-up volunteers on Monday afternoon!

This year’s Neuse River Day is on April 9th, during the Oriental Boat Show, so lots of local folks have pledged to complete a clean-up in advance of the official Neuse River Day. Harborfest for Heartworks was a smashing success!

September 26, 2015

Last weekend’s fund-raiser, Harborfest for Heartworks, held around Grace Harbor at River Dunes, provided a great time for all who attended. The weather was beautiful, the entertainment and food were spectacular, and, most importantly, funds were raised to support the non-profit center that provides services to the children and families of Pamlico County.

The weekend’s events started on Friday evening with barbecue and dancing to the band Saltwater Gold.Saturday, throughout the day, live performances were held at the Outdoor Amphitheater. There was also an art show, a classic car show, and live demonstrations of paddleboarding and fishing. The highlight of the weekend was a gala dinner dance on Saturday night, catered by the Chelsea, with live and silent auctions, followed by dancing to the sounds of The Entertainers.

Congratulations to the volunteers, staff, board members and friends of Heartworks for providing such a great event and for all they do for the families of Pamlico County!
