Ranky Tanky – Gullah Culture Performance

Pamlico Musical Society is sponsoring a free ‘informance’ Saturday, November 17, 2018 @ 2:30p at Holt’s Chapel Community Center at 136 Janeiro Rd. Come out and celebrate the Holt’s Chapel renovation project with Ranky Tanky.

The members of Ranky Tanky are from South Carolina. They perform songs that came out of Gullah culture, including spirituals, dance music and children’s rhymes. Come and enjoy the music and culture of the low country islands of South Carolina. This interactive program will highlight their society.

This free performance is held at Pamlico County’s historic Rosenwald School, one of 5,000 structures built in the 1920’s to bring education to black students in the South.
