Derby Day

The Kentucky Derby is here again! Join us Saturday downstairs at 5:30 for mint juleps and small bites! Wear your finest Derby Hat or bow tie to participate in the annual Best-in-Show Competition. The winners take home a bottle of wine.

The race begins at 6:34 pm. The buffet will open a 6:00 pm. Enjoy Chef Robert’s fried chicken, prime rib sliders, mac & cheese, collards, garden salad, and home-made dessert. Appetizers: $8++. Dinner Buffet for $22++, includes appetizers. This event is open to Harbor Club Members. Cinco de Mayo

May’s First Friday Social Hour at the Club falls on Cinco de Mayo! We’ll be serving South of the Border appetizers for $10++/Member and our full beer/wine menu.

Free Vessel Safety Inspections

Easter Buffet at the Harbor Club

Easter is a time for renewing ties with friends and family, and a great way to celebrate this special day is at the annual Easter Buffet at the Harbor Club.  From 11:00 to 2:00, Chef Robert and Kee have planned a scrumptious brunch buffet, featuring some delicious Spring dishes.  Harbor Club members, cottage guests, and guest boaters are invited to join in the fun!  Reservations and seating times are requested. Game Night at the Harbor Club

January 14th will be a fun-filled evening at River Dunes Harbor Club, as members pit their skills and wit in a variety of games, including Poker, Password and more.

New Year’s Eve at River Dunes

Our annual New Year’s Eve Celebration for Harbor Club members and their guests is shaping up to be one of the best we’ve ever had!

Chef Robert and Dining Services Manager Kee have planned a fabulous 5 course dinner, including a chef-attended crepe station for dessert.  Appetizers will start at 7:00 p.m. and Dinner Seating times are still available.

At 8:00, the Raleigh-based band Risse will start playing a mix of Motown, Beach Music and recent hits that will have everyone on the dance floor.

At midnight, we’ll have our traditional ball drop and a complimentary glass of champagne.

Oriental In-Water Boat Show

April 8 - 10, 2016

Oriental’s annual In-water Boat Show has grown exponentially since its beginnings in 2009. The 2015 show drew 95 exhibitors from as far away Hampton, Virginia, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Bryson City, NC. In addition to nautical goods and services, dealers and brokers brought in boats on land and in the slips at Oriental Harbor Marina, many of which were available for in-water sea trials.

Based on the combination of number of vendors, number of boats, sales attributed and number of attendees, the Oriental show has become one of the largest and most successful in-water shows between Annapolis and Savannah. The 2016 show is scheduled for April 8-10. (From orientalboatshow.com)

The 2015 show set a record with 95 registered exhibitors – 2016 has already topped that with 102 vendors onboard and more coming.

River Dunes Harbor Club will be featuring its Annual Clays and Cuisine Event on Saturday. The day’s activities will begin with a clay shooting session at 2:00 p.m. on the Riverside. River Dunes will provide the equipment including clays, safety goggles, ear plugs, and we will have a few extra guns for those who need them.

On Saturday evening, the festivities will continue from 6:30 to 8:00 with a scrumptious Game Dinner. Chef Robert will be preparing four very special entree options, and dinner will include appetizer, salad, entree and dessert. Following dinner, all are invited to step out onto the porch for a special bourbon tasting, featuring a guest bourbon expert, and an assortment of cigars.

Clay shooting and dinner with complimentary bourbon and cigars will be $50 per person++. Dinner and bourbon only, if you don’t want to shoot, will be $45 per person++. Call the Harbor Club at 252-249-0253 to sign up.
